282 Captiva Bowrider

2003–08

Rinker Yachts 282 Captiva Bowrider
The Rinker 282 Captiva Bowrider is based on the earlier 272 Bowrider (1999–2002) with the extra length used to incorporate a unique aft-facing bench seat into the transom. Like all Rinker boats, the 282 was notable for her low cost. The Captiva’s stepped, deep-V hull allows her to handle an offshore chop better than most big bowriders. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and a 9-foot beam permits a roomy and comfortable interior layout. Aside from the unique aft-facing bench seat built into transom, the high point of the Captiva 282 is her wide-open cockpit with its bucket seats forward, molded wet bar, and expansive L-shaped lounge seating aft. There’s plenty of storage in this boat, and the enclosed head/change compartment under the passenger-side console is surprisingly large. Additional features include a cockpit refrigerator, trim tabs, snap-out carpet, cockpit table, electric engine hatch, in-floor ski storage, tilt steering, cockpit lights, and transom shower. A good performer with a single 320hp MerCruiser Bravo III sterndrive, the Captiva will cruise in the mid 20s and reach a top speed of just under 40 knots.
