272 Captiva Cuddy

1999–2002

Rinker Yachts 272 Captiva Cuddy
The Rinker 272 Captiva combines sturdy construction and good performance in one of the most affordable sportboat packages on the market. Rinker has always built boats for budget-conscious buyers, and the Captiva will appeal to entry-level families moving up from runabouts or ski boats. Note that she rides on a stepped hull, a bottom design that breaks the water’s grip on the hull, which—when properly configured—can increase a boat’s top speed. An excellent dayboat suitable for occasional overnighting, the compact cabin of the Captiva contains a V-berth, an enclosed head, and a hanging locker. The galley (which includes a sink, stove and refrigerator) is located in the cockpit where it’s easily accessed by passengers. An L-shaped lounge provides plenty of cockpit seating, and a removable dinette table stores in the cabin. Additional features include a tilt wheel, walk-through windshield, anchor locker, transom shower, and an electric engine hatch. A quick ride with a single 310hp MerCruiser Bravo III sterndrive, the Captiva will reach a top speed of close to 40 knots. With only 100 gallons of fuel capacity, don’t plan on going too far from the gas dock.
