Ranger
250 Center Console
1994–99
The Ranger 250 is a clean, no-nonsense center console from a company long known for their series of metal-flaked freshwater bass boats. She’s heavily built on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with a flared bow and hard reverse chines, and unlike most other center consoles her size with their trailerable 8'6" beams, the 250 has a wide 9-foot beam—still trailerable, but only with a permit. While she’s a little heavier than her competitors, the ride is very smooth and the extra beam reduces roll when trolling in a beam sea. A good-looking boat, the console is set well forward in the hull which results in an especially large cockpit. Storage is excellent; there are three large storage bins under the casting platform and a roomy storage compartment beneath the console. Two in-deck fishboxes are standard in the cockpit along with coaming bolsters, a bait-prep center and plenty of rod holders. Note that a transom baitwell was added in 1996. Additional features include recessed trim tabs, positive foam flotation, bow pulpit and lockable rod storage. A fast and dry ride in a chop, twin 225hp outboards will cruise the Ranger 250 at over 30 knots and reach a top speed of 45 knots.
