An expensive, high-quality boat in her day, the Rampage 36 is a traditional blend of clean styling, excellent open-water performance, and a well-conceived deck layout. The beamy, fully cored hull provides a very large bi-level cockpit area with lots of room for tackle and storage without cutting into belowdeck space. The cockpit contains an oversized transom door, two large in-deck fish boxes, concealed rod storage, and four tackle centers. A settee is abaft the companion seat, and easy engine access is provided via a centerline hatch in the cockpit sole. Below, the Sportsman’s rich cherrywood interior is arranged with a double berth forward and a dinette that converts to sleep two. A full galley includes a refrigerator and microwave, and the head has the toilet concealed in the shower stall. Additional features include side-dumping exhausts, chart table, and molded bow pulpit. Several diesel options were offered during her production years. With 300hp Cummins diesels, the Rampage 36 will cruise at 20 knots (around 25 knots top). With larger 425hp Cats she’ll cruise at 25 knots and deliver 29–30 knots wide open.
