336 Flybridge Express

Introduced in 1989, the 336 was the first boat produced by Navigator Yachts. She bears a strong resemblance to Carver’s Santego series of express bridge boats popularized in the late 1980s, a cross between a convertible sedan and express cruiser with a spacious single-level interior and V-drive inboard power. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a relatively wide beam and a full bow, the interior of the 336 was available in a pair of single-stateroom floorplans, both of which included a separate stall shower in the head. Like all express bridge models, the engines are aft—beneath the cockpit sole rather than under the salon. This allows the interior to be set low in the hull, which, in turn, reduces the boat’s overall profile. While the Navigator’s accommodations are spacious and well arranged, the absence of larger cabin windows makes for a somewhat claustrophobic interior. Notable features include a fully integrated swim platform, molded flybridge steps, transom door and a bow pulpit. Twin 300hp V-drive gas engines cruise the Navigator 336 at 20 knots and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 30 knots.
