Mediterranean
54 Convertible
1994–2007
Built in California and sold factory-direct, the Mediterranean 54 is a no-frills flybridge yacht for West Coast boaters with an eye for value. She’s constructed on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide 16'8" beam and a shallow keel. Several floorplans were available in the 54 following her 1994 introduction, and the factory promoted its ability to custom-design the interior to an owner’s requirements. Wraparound salon windows offer panoramic views of the water, and a lower helm station was a popular option. The 54’s large cockpit is arranged with molded steps at the corners, an engine room access door, two in-deck fish boxes, and a baitwell in the transom. Topside, the helm is aft on the flybridge with lounge seating and a wet bar forward. Like most West Coast designs, the Mediterranean 54’s side decks are very wide and she carries more fuel than most any boat in her class. Note that a Pilothouse (enclosed bridge) version was also available. Among several engine choices, twin 550hp Detroit 6V92s (small engines for a 54-footer) cruise at 20 knots (low 20s top). Optional 760hp 8V92s cruise at 25–26 knots (about 28 top).
