Grady-White

268 Islander

1995–2001

Grady-White 268 Islander
The Grady-White 268 Islander (called the 270 Islander in 2002, her last year of production) is a big trailerable walkaround cabin with the quality, comfort, and performance one expects of a Grady-White product. She wasn’t as popular as the Grady-White Sailfish or Marlin, but the 268 can hold her own with anything in her class. With nearly 60 square feet of space, the Islander’s uncluttered cockpit has plenty of space for two active anglers. Standard features include an integrated swim platform, transom livewell, anchor locker, aft bench seat, insulated fish/storage boxes (2), transom door, lockable electronics box (helm), cockpit shower, tackle storage, raw-water washdown, gunnel rod holders (4), rod storage racks, cockpit lights, and trim tabs. Popular options included a factory hardtop, bow pulpit, trim tabs, and an auxiliary fuel tank. Below, Spartan (as in no frills) cabin accommodations include an enclosed head with shower, compact galley with sink and refrigerator, and a convertible dinette/V-berth forward. A heavily built boat, twin Yamaha 225hp outboards top out between 40 and 45 knots.
