Grady-White

257 Advance; 257 Fisherman

2003–Current

One of the most successful 25-foot center consoles ever developed, the Grady-White 257 Advance (called the 257 Fisherman after 2014) has been the subject of numerous refinements since her introduction in 2003. Fishing is the primary mission of the 257—the front seating layout features four gunwale rod holders, two on each side, and a retractable transom seat to free up space in the aft cockpit. Toe rails to port and starboard provide footing for leverage, and a 32-gallon livewell and insulated fish box are built into the transom. Two additional insulated fish boxes are beneath the forward seats. The 257’s lockable console houses a portable head, dome light, and storage. To make things as comfortable as possible for those fighting fish, the entire cockpit is decked out with thigh-high bolsters and deep toe kicks. Where the original 257 Advance carried 151 gallons of fuel, the Fisherman models built after 2014 have 135 gallons of fuel capacity. Heavily built, the 257 is one of several 25-footers rated for twin engines. Those powered with a single 300hp outboard will reach a top speed of 36–37 knots. Twin 150hp engines top out in the low to mid 40s.
