Everglades
243 Center Console
2004–21
The top-selling hybrid boat in this class, the Everglades 243 is a beaujpgully crafted center console with an unsinkable hull and plenty of amenities. Higher gunwales than most bay-boats make this boat family-friendly and safe. The 243 has an efficient deck layout replete with casting platforms, fish lockers, and seating for family and friends. A small head features a Porta-Potty. Standard features include trim tabs, a 32-gallon live well, wide walkaround gunwales, four flush-mounted rod holders, a tackle unit, dry storage and lifejacket storage nets. The rear seats fold down and locks to create a flush aft casting deck. Forward of the console is a 75-gallon in-deck fishbox with macerator and storage units. The console features a nifty sliding acrylic windshield to control wind flow, recessed storage areas, room for flush-mounting a 12" GPS display, and a forward cooler seat. The 19-degree deadrise hull of the 243 CC handles an offshore chop better than most hybrid boats. On the downside, a modest 8'2" beam means that cockpit space can get tight at times. A single 250hp Yamaha will power the Everglades 243 to a top speed in the 40-knot range.
