Delta 38 Sportfisherman

The first Delta 38s were commercial dive and charter boats, where they earned a reputation for dependability and offshore stability. A semi-custom model, over 70 have been built (most to USCG specifications), and while the majority are used commercially, there are many that are privately owned as well. Her modified-V hull is narrow with moderate deadrise aft and a spray rail forward—a no-nonsense fishing platform with solid fiberglass construction and proven offshore performance. The cockpit in this boat is huge with low freeboard and plenty of space for tackle centers and a full-size chair. The interior dimensions are limited due to the oversize cockpit and the unique 4-foot collision bulkhead forward (a watertight compartment required by the CG in cerjpgied boats). A lower helm is standard, and V-berths are below, along with a galley and small head. The Delta 38 has been offered with a wide variety of power options over the years including GM, Cat, Volvo, and Cummins diesels to 425hp. Built by Canaveral Custom Boats in Cape Canaveral, FL, the Delta 38 appeals to anglers seeking simplicity and durability rather than Eurostyle glitz.
