DeFever

60 Offshore Cruiser

1978–83

DeFever 60 Offshore Cruiser
A traditional flush deck cruising yacht, the DeFever 60 Offshore is a classic DeFever design whose wide 17'8" beam results in a yacht of exceptional space inside and out. Built by the CTF yard in Taiwan, the hullsides of the DeFever 60 are Airex-cored and a long full-length keel protects the props and running gear. The standard floorplan was arranged with four staterooms and three heads on the lower level with private salon access to the master suite. The galley is open to the salon, and twin sliding doors open to the large, protected afterdeck. While the deckhouse dimensions aren’t extravagant compared with other yachts her size, the spacious aft deck and walkaround decks are desirable characteristics of any serious cruising yacht. Additional features include a fake stack on the flybridge, weather-protected side decks, port and starboard wheelhouse deck doors, wing doors, and a big engine room with access from the master stateroom. Among several engine options, twin 290hp Cat 3306 diesels cruise the DeFever 60 at 9–10 knots with about 2,000 miles of range. While only eight of these yachts were built, the hull was stretched to accommodate several DeFever models up to 72 feet in length.
