50 Cockpit MY

2007–14

DeFever 50 Cockpit MY
The DeFever 50 Cockpit is an updated version of the DeFever 49 Cockpit (1994–2006) with greater beam and—instead of the 49’s full displacement hull—a semi-displacement hull capable of speeds approaching 16–18 knots. Both boats share the same flush deck profile making it difficult to distinguish one from the other, and both share near-identical two-stateroom teak interiors with the galley aft in the salon—an unusual layout seldom seen in modern cruising yachts. Port and starboard doors forward in the salon provide easy access to the decks, and the big U-shaped galley features Sub-Zero refrigeration and tons of counter space. The full-beam owner’s stateroom has a walkaround king bed, tremendous storage, and space for a washer/dryer. Forward, the guest stateroom was available with V-berths or an optional island berth. A great feature of the DeFever 50 is her walk-in engine room (accessed from the forward stateroom) with sea chest and 5-foot headroom. The sundeck hardtop will accommodate a davit and dinghy. Note the large storage lazarette in the cockpit sole. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide 16-foot beam, twin 300hp John Deere diesels cruise at 10–12 knots.
