5000 Sedan Sport
1998–2003
Flagship of the Cruisers fleet when she was introduced in 1998, the 5000 Sedan Sport is a stylish Eurostyle motor yacht with the aggressive good looks of an Italian import. She’s built on a fully cored modified-V hull with a shallow keel for improved tracking and prop pockets to reduce shaft angles. The wide-open interior of the 5000 Sedan Sport is a striking contrast to most of the imports with their sunken (hidden) galleys and tiny staterooms. Not only is the salon completely open to the galley and elevated helm/dinette, but the Sedan Sport even manages to include inside access to the flybridge—a rare convenience in a boat this size. Two of the three staterooms have double berths, and both heads have separate stall showers. On the downside, the cockpit is very small, and the meticulous craftsmanship seen in the European imports is missing in the more affordable Sedan Sport. Additional features include rich cherrywood joinery, good engine room access, a spacious flybridge, and a centerline lower helm. Among several V-drive engine options, twin 480hp Volvo diesels cruise the Sedan Sport at 18 knots (22–23 knots top), and 660hp Cats cruise at 25 knots (28–29 knots top).
