Cruisers Yachts
3470 Express; 340 Express
2001–07
Cruisers has been a strong contender in the family express market for years and the company can always be counted on to deliver a good-quality product at a competitive price. There was nothing revolutionary about the 340 Express (called the 3470 Express in 2001–03)—she’s a straightforward mid-cabin cruiser with contemporary styling, modern construction, and upscale accommodations. Indeed, the plush interior is unusually spacious for a 34-footer, and the layout is both open and inviting. Two floorplans were offered, one with a fixed berth amidships and a dinette with facing seats, and an optional arrangement with a convertible settee in the mid-cabin and a U-shaped dinette. Privacy curtains separate both sleeping areas from the main cabin, and the head includes a separate stall shower. Additional features include a fully cored hull, cockpit wet bar, transom door, gas-assist engine compartment hatch, foredeck sun pad and a cockpit table. Offered with inboard or sterndrive power, twin 370hp MerCruiser V-drive inboards cruise the 340 Express in the mid 20s (30+ knots top), and 375hp MerCruiser Bravo III sterndrives will top out in the high 30s.
