Chaparral
287 SSX
2017–19
A stylish and well-built bowrider from a company that always gets it right, the Chaparral 287 SSX offers an impressive mix of comfort and luxury at a competitive price. The 9-foot beam provides a deck plan large enough to seat as many as 12 people, and the helm features an all-new glass dash with dual touchscreen displays. Both bow seats lift for access to deep storage lockers, and the cockpit features comfortable wraparound seating with a multi-position power sun lounge aft. Note that a removable cooler is stored beneath the starboard-side cockpit seat. The removable dinette table snaps into place in either the bow or cockpit. Concealed within the port console, the well-appointed head compartment comes with a stainless steel sink and a portable MSD. Both helm seats are surprisingly wide, a feature often overlooked on open bow boats like this. There’s an anchor locker up front, and pull-up cleats and a pull-up bow light are standard. A power folding arch and trim tabs were popular options. A single 380hp MerCruiser 8.2 engine will cruise the 287 SSX at 26–28 knots and reach a top speed of about 40 knots.
