Swift Trawler 44
Agile, seaworthy and fuel efficient, the Swift Trawler 44 combines European styling and spirited performance in a cruising yacht of exceptional versatility. The 44 was designed to replace the Swift Trawler 42—the hull shapes are nearly the same with the extra length coming from the 44’s swim platform. The similarities end there however and the 44 is a generational step up from her predecessor. The styling is very distinctive and the asymmetrical deck layout of the 44 results in a larger salon than one expects in a boat this size. The roomy two stateroom interior features a well-appointed salon with mahogany joinery and a lower helm with deck access door. Large salon windows create an open airy feeling throughout and rounded front windows greatly improve visibility. A narrow stairway between the galley and lower helm descends to the day head and both cabins. A flybridge extension shades the cockpit where wing doors offer additional protection from wind and spray. Note the starboard-side boarding gate. On the downside, the engine room is a tight fit. Twin 300hp Volvo D4 diesels cruise at 14–15 knots (low to mid 20s top) burning only one gallon per mile.
