Baja
280 Sport Fisherman
1990–2003
Introduced in 1991, the Baja 280 SF is a trailerable 28-footer with a full transom and cuddy cabin—a versatile, go-fast cruiser for fishing or entertaining. The 280 rides on a fully cored deep-V hull with a sharp bow entry and slender 8'4" beam. With the console positioned well aft on the deck, there is very little fishing space between the leaning post and transom. Standard features include an anchor locker, low-profile bow rails, trim tabs, forward console seat with cooler, gunnel rod holders (4), forward jump seats, in-floor aft storage, removable rear bench seat, leaning post with storage, swim ladder, console storage, glove box, hydraulic tilt steering, and cockpit lights. A V-berth with Porta-Potti in the lockable cuddy makes the 280 a capable overnighter. No console head compartment, no transom door. An optional Sportfish Package included an in-deck fish box, forward livewell, cockpit bolsters, tackle box, fresh and raw water washdowns, and recessed rod storage. A light boat for her size, the 280 Sport Fisherman is a fast ride—over 50 knots top with 225hp Mercury outboards.
