250 Sportfish

2001–06

The Baja 250 Sportfish combines excellent performance with a sexy profile and a unique seating arrangements for passengers. This is not a hard-core center console. Instead, the 250 SF is more like a sport boat that loves to fish. The most impressive feature is found along the transom where a bait-prep center with three covered compartments flips upside down to reveal two padded jump seats with drink holders in between—very clever. A molded forward casting platform easily doubles as a sun pad with a filler cushion. Beneath the casting platform is a rope locker and a tri-folding hatch that opens to reveal a massive fish box. The bolster-style double helm seat is a solid and impressive bit of work. The seat bases drop down to create a leaning post suitable for high-speed offshore work. Single-lever Kiekhaefer racing controls and K-plane trim tabs were standard, and a livewell just abaft the leaning post was optional. The console houses a Porta-Potti. The factory offered a broad range of options for diving and cruising as well as offshore fishing. A fast ride with twin 150hp engines, expect a top speed in the neighborhood of 50 knots.
