Aquarius
41 Motor Yacht
1987–93
With her excessively outlined salon windows and prominent reverse arch, the unusual styling characteristics of the Aquarius 41 MY make her an easy boat to spot in a crowd. She was built in Taiwan on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide beam and a relatively long keel. Her two-stateroom, galley-down floorplan features an expansive salon comparable in size to what might be expected in a larger boat. A dinette is opposite the galley, and a built-in entertainment center is to port in the salon. The generous salon dimensions come at a price since both staterooms are a little tight, especially the forward cabin which is probably more useful for storage than adult sleeping quarters. As it was with most Taiwan imports of her era, teak woodwork is applied extensively throughout the interior. Outside, the aft deck is rather small with space for a modest amount of outdoor furniture. The flybridge, however, is very roomy with plenty of guest seating. Twin Perkins 200hp (or the more recent Cummins 210hp) diesels cruise the Aquarius at 12–13 knots and reach a top speed of 15 knots. Optional 375hp Cats cruise at 18–20 knots.
