The Viking Yacht Company’s demo team is making serious waves in the sportfishing world this year—and HMY Yacht Sales is proud to be your premier source for these tournament-winning machines. The first half of the 2025 big-game season has been nothing short of impressive, with Viking’s flagship demo fleet racking up wins from coast to coast and across international waters.
Leading the charge is Hull No. 1 of the all-new Viking 74, which made a jaw-dropping debut on the tournament trail. In its first five major events, the 74 clinched two first-place finishes and one second, cementing its reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the water.
Under the leadership of Captain Sean Dooley, the Viking 74 kicked off the season in dominant fashion at The Shootout – Production vs. Custom, outperforming a competitive field packed with custom sportfishing vessels.

“This boat is turning heads,” shared Drew McDowell, General Manager of Viking subsidiary Palm Beach Towers and a longtime member of the Viking demo program. “The ride is phenomenal—confident and smooth even when others are backing off. For a brand-new model to perform like this, right out of the gate, says a lot about how Viking builds their boats.”
The winning streak continued at the Charleston Billfish Invitational, part of the South Carolina Governor’s Cup, where the Viking 74 took top honors once again—showcasing its tournament-ready layout, unmatched fishability, and rock-solid performance in real-world conditions.
The momentum stayed strong with a second-place finish at the HMY Lowcountry Cup, proving that the Viking 74 is as consistent as it is capable.

But the season is far from over. As the Viking 74 hands off the torch, attention now turns to Hull No. 9 of the Viking 82, which is preparing to make its mark this summer. This model already has an elite pedigree—Hull No. 1 took the Bermuda Triple Crown title in 2024—and it will begin its 2025 campaign at the Bermuda Billfish Blast, July 3–7.
The Viking 68 demo boat will also be entering several East Coast tournaments this summer, including fan favorites like the White Marlin Open and The MidAtlantic.
