HMY Yacht Sales closed out a spectacular 2nd quarter of 2017 by reporting a 34% increase in brokerage sales over 2016. While Yachtworld.com's industry report showed a drop in boat sales in April and May across all brokerage firms, HMY posted double-digit increases both months while finally closing out June 2017 88% over June 2016.
"Our team is absolutely on fire right now," said Tim Derrico, Director of Sales for HMY. "The industry reports show a small drop in boat sales overall, but we aren't seeing it. I think HMY is just getting a larger piece of the market share that is out there. Between our experienced sales and support team and the dominant marketing presence we have, we are attracting more buyers and sellers. Once they experience the differences a professional firm has to offer, they don't want to do business anywhere else. Our clients have told us they see what we are doing in the marketplace and they want to be a part of it."
The 115 brokerage yachts sold in the quarter for $104,164,708 included a variety of motor yachts, sportfishing yachts, trawlers, and center console boats. "We really saw the Viking and custom sportfish market come alive this quarter," continued Derrico.
