Schaefer Yachts is a Brazilian shipyard founded in the early 1990s by yacht designer Marcio Luz Schaefer, initially operating under the name Estaleiro Kiwi Boats with a 19-foot outboard called the F6 as its first production model. The yard is headquartered in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, with its primary factory in the nearby municipality of Palhoca. Schaefer produces approximately 90 percent of each yacht in-house — including hull, deck, superstructure, upholstery, and teak work — at its Brazilian facilities, using vacuum-infused resin construction adopted in 2006.
