The most experienced diesel mechanics and captains would prefer to embark on a voyage around the world with a proven 1100 hour engine that had its 1000 hour service than one with half of the hours, as the 1100 hour engine is proven. The pods were just rebuilt ($30k), the bottom was just painted and all Volvo services are current. The current owner brought her to the shipyard and said “do everything to make this the most reliable, best running and ocean worthy 50’ Prestige on the market”.
