Pearl Yachts' heritage page traces the brand to 1998, when Iain Smallridge and John Yarnold founded Pearl Yachts as a British manufacturer of luxury flybridge motor yachts. Production is based in Warwickshire, England — near Stratford-upon-Avon — making Pearl one of the few luxury flybridge builders operating in the United Kingdom. The company is owned and chaired by Margaret Whittaker OBE, and has maintained a small-volume, high-customization build philosophy throughout its history.

Pearl's exterior lines and naval architecture have been shaped throughout the brand's history by Bill Dixon, whose long-running partnership with the company has defined the range's proportions from the earliest models to the current lineup. Interior design has been led by Kelly Hoppen MBE. The Pearl range spans roughly 60 to 95 feet — from the Pearl 62 through the Pearl 95 — each built as a bespoke British motor yacht rather than a higher-volume continental alternative.
