On an outboard boat, the power package is most of the value. Establish engine make, count, horsepower and hours, then confirm what is left of any factory warranty and whether it transfers, since that alone can move an asking price by a significant margin on a late-model hull. Where a boat has been repowered, ask whether the rigging — steering, controls, harnesses and gauges — was renewed with the engines or carried over.
