Horizon Yachts was founded in 1987 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, by CEO John Lu. Every Horizon yacht is designed, engineered, tested and built at the company's own facilities in Kaohsiung — the same city where the brand started, and one of Asia's established centers of precision composite boatbuilding. Horizon uses vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) construction, a closed-mold process that reduces voids in the laminate and produces a consistent, quality-controlled hull and deck structure.
Since 1987 the yard has delivered more than 940 yachts across multiple series spanning roughly 60 to 150 feet, including planing, semi-planing, full-displacement and catamaran designs.
