Hampton Yacht Group traces its roots to 1965, when C.Y. Chen began building sailing yachts in Taiwan under the well-known Formosa brand. The company earned a reputation for sturdy, ocean-capable cruising sailboats during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
