Yachting Magazine's feature on the Greenline 39 describes the brand as a Slovenia-based builder of hybrid and solar-assist powerboats, with photovoltaic panels integrated into the hardtop and an efficient displacement hull designed to run on electric power at low speeds, switching to diesel at cruising speeds. Greenline was founded in 2008 by the J&J Design team — brothers Jernej and Japec Jakopin — who earlier founded Seaway in Slovenia in 1983. The brand's first model, the Greenline 33, debuted in 2008 as one of the first production hybrid motorboats.
Power & Motoryacht's review of the Greenline 33 Hybrid confirmed that the original hybrid drivetrain paired a diesel engine with an electric motor, a lithium battery bank, and rooftop photovoltaic panels — all produced at the Slovenian facility. The Greenline range has since expanded to approximately 33 to 96 feet. HMY Yachts carries pre-owned Greenline listings from 33 to 50 feet, spanning model years 2019 through 2024.
