Gamefisherman's About page traces the brand to 1985, when Mike Matlack — a former president of Rybovich, one of Florida's most respected custom sportfish builders — founded Gamefisherman in Stuart, Florida. The company has built fully custom sportfishing boats in Stuart ever since, working in the mid-size custom segment alongside other historically significant Florida sportfish yards.
