Caymas Boats' Our Story page traces the brand to 2018, when Earl Bentz founded it in Ashland City, Tennessee. Bentz is a former national-champion boat racer and NMMA Hall of Fame inductee who previously founded Stratos and Triton Boats before launching Caymas as an independent, founder-led company. Caymas builds custom fiberglass bass, bay, and offshore center-console fishing boats from its Tennessee facility.
Sport Fishing Magazine's Caymas roundtable gives additional context on Earl Bentz's track record with earlier boat brands and the Caymas approach to custom fiberglass construction. Caymas saltwater models use a Michael Peters-designed stepped-vee ventilated hull — a planning-hull configuration that balances offshore sea-keeping with efficiency at speed.
