The findings that reprice a deal are usually in the machinery spaces and the certification file rather than in the interior: main engine and generator hours against documented service, stabilizer and steering gear condition, tankage and piping, HVAC and watermaker condition, and the state of the paint, which is one of the largest single line items on a yacht of this class once it is due. Establish class and flag status, the date and scope of the last refit, and whether the yacht has been run privately or in charter service, since charter-standard compliance and continuous crewed maintenance both show up in asking price. VAT status and the ownership structure a yacht is held in affect the closing mechanics on European-based hulls and are worth settling early rather than at contract.
