Power Catamarans have quickly become one of the most popular boats on the water. HMY Yachts, among the leaders in new yachts and brokerage sales, will be the exclusive distributor for the U.S.A., Canada, Central, and South America, The Caribbean, and The Bahamas regions, starting with the 555 built by Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing and designed by Du Toit Yacht Design.

The Two Oceans 555 power catamaran is an impressive 55-foot vessel and is built to the highest quality standards on the market today. Elegant simplicity is one way of describing Du Toit’s styling, and their interior designs are light, modern, and low maintenance. The 55’ Power Cat is comparable in space and accommodations to a 70’ motor yacht and boasts a modern, luxurious, high-end finish and accommodations. With an exceptionally comfortable ride in rough seas, and also at higher speeds, she will burn nearly half the fuel compared to a motor yacht of equal accommodations, and she’s also more environmentally friendly. Her standard equipment will meet U.S. specifications.

David Jerichovic, HMY Yachts, back again with episode 2, hull number 2 of the Two Oceans 555 power catamaran. Starting off on the back of the boat, you may notice something has changed. Hull number 2, as you can see, has an entirely different cockpit configuration. What you're looking at right now is the center lounger set up in the aft-facing lounge position. It has two more positions, forward lounge and dining. You don't have to leave them both in the aft-facing position. Simply change it. One can face aft, one can face forward. Quite a bit of thought was put into this yacht seating option. And you'll see these angled cushions here on the outboard edges of the settee. These are backrests, so you can comfortably face back here or there. Quite a bit different than hull number 1. This large composite table is part of the yacht seating option, as are these huge storage cabinets port and starboard. I do have to make mention though, this is a customer's boat, so you'll see there should be some seating around here. Well, indeed there is. There are six custom-colored director's chairs that go with the seating, but as you'll see the plastic throughout the boat, we're in the delivery process. We're not going to unwrap the customer's property for potential damage. Another large difference you're going to see as we enter the cockpit of hull 2 of the 555, there are no latches. There are exterior latches on any cabinet. Everything is now push-release. Welcome to the flybridge on hull number 2. You'll notice beautiful teak tread all the way down to the cockpit. You'll see a few differences here. These owners selected storage and storage for an aft, an ample-sized refrigerator, icemaker, and a double-wide gas grill. We're back on the massive entertaining area on the aft edge of this flybridge. These owners did not opt for a crane, but as you saw with hull number 1, those owners did. They're going to use this area, expansive area, for entertaining. You have to take note of the size of this massive entertaining settee on the flybridge with variable height table and look at the choice of umbrella. Really brings some nice color into this area. Remember, the stid helm seat in the bench configuration is standard on the Two Oceans 555. No foam over plastic. When you get done with a long, hard day on the water, you're going to still be able to walk away comfortable. The main helm, not much has changed here since hull number 1. But if you take a note of Gavin Seabury's comment about throttles, we're back to normal mount horizontal surface. Variable speed bow thruster, the Garmin equipment you see here, everything is standard, less the integral controller. Moving forward with additions to this boat being fully off-grid package boat, you'll see in this quadrant of the Garmin display on starboard, I have a Victron Energy Monitoring screen here. This shows us every bit what's going on with our electrical systems on the boat. So we can see what we're taking in on solar. We can see to the right of it what we're outputting from our integral PTO generators. And we can see tankage and anything that's tied to the Victron system, which on this boat, everything is. You can also see it on the Victron app with your phone. Looking forward, this boat does not have the forward lounger being a full off-grid package boat. It has the additional solar. Another eight 400 watt solar panels are forward of the helm. You'll note vents on the flybridge of this boat here at the helm and elsewhere around you. This particular owner specified two independent 16,000 BTU air conditioners for his flybridge. You'll see the galley, no significant changes here on what these owners chose. They have the built-in icemaker forward, the optional built-in icemaker. They have the dishwasher, the induction cooktop, four burner, the GE profile convection microwave oven, and the standard Fisher Paykel refrigerator drawer freezer with icemaker. One change here within the galley is you'll note the sinks are different. These customers opted for the large sink with the small sink, not identical size sink. To port, you'll see the settee is slightly larger, much more loungy. And also, as this is an on-deck master, this will be your dining area if you're not outside, forward, or on the flybridge. Therefore, it has a much larger salon table. And now, welcome to the 180 degree views from Two Oceans Hull Number 2's on-deck master. Unique to the 555 is this on-deck master, which is fully flush with all of these salon deck surfaces. You are not on forward, down towards the water. You are right flush deck across the entire salon level. Moving down from the on-deck master into the master head, you'll see separate head, dressing vanity, storage abound, dual sinks, and of course, a very ample shower. In the case like this particular owner where you'll have an onboard captain and stew, they have easy access to the washer-dryer facilities as they go back to their stateroom. On our way aft, the same as in all of the Two Oceans 555 models, the electrical panel is conveniently located right at eye level as you work down the port companionway. Above are your Victron controls for the off-grid system and all your electrical systems in nice digital LCD form, clear and easy to read. Below are your analog breakers for all systems on the boat, well labeled and easy to get to. A question that many have had since the release of hull number one is, why do you have fixed breakers on these boats? This was not a cost decision, it was a conscious decision to always have systems be able to work because remote locations of operation on these boats are the most likely known to be. Again, as I mentioned before, these owners, they have a captain and a stew. What do you see here? Wonderful space for crew, which is one of the big points of design. You cannot have a happy life on a boat without happy crew. That's why we don't offer any 4P crew or any of that on these particular boats. Here you'll see two generous twin beds, as well as a full non-wet head, separate head, sink and shower. Welcome to the starboard aft stateroom. In this configuration for this owner, features a full size bed, excellent storage. As with the rest of the staterooms in this boat, this stateroom also features a non-wet head, separate shower and head. Moving forward in the starboard hall, we enter the VIP. But one thing you'll notice, storage, storage and storage. Of course, the person that's going to be visiting you in the VIP would expect nothing less. On our way forward, a full non-wet head, sink and shower. Here we are in the VIP stateroom. Follow suit with the rest of the boat, but to another level. This is really a wonderful space to be in. Think of green Bahamian waters, waking up in the morning, raising the shades and wow. Attention to detail, attention to detail. You'll note when you look back at hull number one, or if you look at any of the specifications you've seen on the Two Oceans 555, the forward door is in the middle of the boat, not on this hall. This is the first on-deck master boat. With the on-deck master, we're looking at the headboard from here centerline. Therefore, the forward door has to move over to port. With that being moved over to port, you wouldn't believe it, but there's a totally different insert for this part of the deck, which makes this forward lounge larger than you see on the open boats. Standard in the Two Oceans 555 Power Catamaran are coming 6.7 liter, 550 horsepower diesel engines. You'll notice something different in these engine rooms versus that of hull number one. There's no standalone generator. That's because this boat is the first of the off-grid package equipped boats. Therefore, it has a 9 kW PTO generator on the front of each engine. Also, you'll note that the entire engine room is paneled in white bright aluminum and has easy access to all systems, wiring and plumbing behind via a provided key in each engine room.
