My name is Nettie Berkeley and I've been with HMI for seven years. I'm Michelle Gibson. I work in the HMI office at Palm Harbor Marina. As a yacht closing assistant, we are the broker's total support system. I work with the client and the broker together to take care of the little details that are all part of the big sale. Being a yacht closing assistant, you definitely have to wear a lot of different hats. Not only are you helping the HMI sales professionals on a daily basis, but we also have to assist the customer by making sure the entire transaction runs smoothly and the deal closes when and how it is supposed to. And I add listings online onto the HMI website, yachtworld.com, YachtCo, and other websites that are practiced by HMI Yachts. Oftentimes a lot of the smaller brokerage firms don't have trained yacht closers, so we end up doing most of the work, not just for our client, but for the other broker's client as well. The yacht closing assistants are an extension of what we are as sales professionals. Handling nearly 500 transactions a year, they're well versed in everything with the closing processes, the sellers, with the buyers, and they develop relationships with the clients just as well as we do. They're an invaluable part of what we do here at HMI. I really enjoy working at HMI Yachts because I can indulge my love of the water things. I can really benefit from what I've learned and I can learn new things here too. One of the things I like the most about working with HMI Yachts is the vision that we all share and that's to ensure that our clients have a positive experience whether they're buying or selling.
