2019 Viking Yachts 58' Convertible [Walkthrough]

Hi, I'm Rob Spano with HMY Yacht Sales. Today we're gonna go for a ride aboard this brand new 58-foot Viking Sportfish. Let's take a look inside. You'll see the salon is very spacious and provides plenty of room for entertaining family and friends. On your starboard side is the electrical panel located behind the high gloss walnut cabinetry, along with some storage and liquor cabinet next to the pop-up TV. Moving forward, there's a dinette that seats six comfortably. On the port side of the salon is an L-shaped couch, which provides storage underneath for rods and tackle. The galley of the 58 is beautifully laid out. There are two bar stools located at the front of the galley with an elevated eating area. It has this beautiful countertop that also features a flush mounted four burner cooktop. You have four SubZero refrigerator drawers, two which are refrigerators and the other two being freezers. Moving down the steps of the companionway, on the starboard side, in this room there are side-by-side berths with a TV and a hanging locker. Continuing forward, you have a full-size washer and dryer. The guest head is located forward to the starboard side, which provides a full stand-up shower. All the way forward are these crossover bunks, which provide plenty of sleeping space for your guests. This room also benefits from a lot of natural light created by the hatch above. The 58 convertible has a beautiful master stateroom, which is located to the port side. It's accentuated by a lift-up queen bed, also his and hers hanging lockers on the aft side, as well as its own private head and shower. The cockpit of the 58 provides plenty of room for fishing. Some of the features include a fish box in the transom that doubles as a livewell, a tuna door with transom gate, two in-deck fish boxes, as well as refrigeration in the mezzanine step and also in the mezzanine seat. A large hatch provides access to the engine room from the cockpit. Here we are in the engine room of the 58 convertible. This boat was built with the upgraded optional 1600 horsepower 10-cylinder MTU package. This boat is built with the 21.5 kilowatt Cummins Onan generators. As you can see, there's plenty of room down here, about six foot of headroom. There's four feet in front of the motors to get all the way outboard, get around, work on all your components. On this side, you have all your watermaker filters easily accessible on the forward bulkhead, and then going around to your spot zero system on the starboard outboard side. Back here on the back bulkhead, we have the Eskimo ice maker, as well as all your compressors for your cockpit refrigeration. On the other side, there's the battery chargers and your electrical panel for the 24-volt system. Wanted to show you a couple things about this boat, so we figured what better way to do that than out here on the water. Beautiful day off of Palm Beach today. We're going to start by talking about some of the electronics on this boat. This boat was specced out with a Garmin electronics package. As you can see right now, we've got our sonar and plotter and radar up on the screens. You can interchange between the three of those inputs to any of the screens you want. In the port radio box, you've got your stereo and FLIR camera, and also your spotlight control panel. Overhead box, you've got your two VHS, as well as your autopilot and your RD33. In your starboard box, you've got your MTU control panel, as well as your Garmin controller, and also the seatkeeper control pad. One of the nice aspects of having your seatkeeper control pad right there is that when you're fishing and you get a bite, you want to lock up your seatkeeper. What that's going to let you do is fight the fish without the restrictions of the seatkeeper. So if I were to lean over, switch over to cruise mode, lock the seatkeeper in position, and just start backing down on my fish, the boat's going to react a lot better without the restrictions of the seatkeeper in place. This is a great little sailfish or white marlin boat. Really agile, quick maneuvering, fast to back up on a fish to get the leader. You can see that the MTUs don't smoke even when in hard reverse. Even as I simulate a couple of hard turns chasing a fish, you're able to really maneuver the boat without having a lot of smoke. One of the nice things about these MTUs is their speed out of the hole without any smoke. You can see that even with the turbo changeovers, the boat is very smooth and clean burning. This is a great engine package for this 58 convertible. This boat comes equipped with the bow thruster controls built right into the levers. Mounted overhead are your teaser reels for easy access during a bite. Hit the retrieve button and get the teasers out of the water quickly. Over here on the starboard side, you've got bench seating, which also serves as a place for rod storage. Up front, port and starboard, you have boxes on either side that are refrigerated for drink storage. It's nice seating up front here with drink holders in each armrest, and as well, another spot over on the port side, some more rod storage over here in the bench seat. Anchoring on the 58 is made easy by this well-designed stainless steel fairlead and plow anchor. And one of the eye-catching options is this faux teak toe rail. It has the beautiful look of teak, but without the maintenance. That wraps up our day on the 58 Viking convertible. I hope you enjoyed the trip with us.
