2019 Viking 44' Open [Walkthrough]

Hi, my name is Doug Donahue. I'm a Viking yacht sales specialist with HMY Yachts in Palm Beach, Florida. Today we're going to take a quick tour of the new 44 Viking open featured here in a whisper gray hull color. Welcome aboard. Starting off in the cockpit, full teak deck in the cockpit, teak on the mezzanine, mezzanine seating. There's a freezer underneath the large mezzanine seat and access down to the engine room. That's an insulated refrigerated drink box and tackle center. You have two large in-deck fish boxes. This one has an Eskimo ice machine discharge into the box. Moving aft, we have a transom door with a pass-through gate that makes for easy on and off if you're swimming or diving or if you have the opportunity to harvest a large fish, it comes in easily through the door. This is a transom fish box, also plumbed as a live bait well. It has a high capacity saltwater pump to keep bait very fresh. You have a lazarette hatch, which leads down to some steering components and some stuff you'll have to get at from time to time. And on the starboard side is the second fish box. And there is a divider if you wanted to break that up. Underneath the gunnels, there are 12 and 24 volt outlets for any type of electric reel you'd like to use. Going up to the tower, there are three route holders. Making our way up to the helm deck, storage, tackle center, five drawers, ISO therm refrigerator, and an additional storage compartment. There are three Release Marine teak chairs, the companion chair to port side, the captain's chair centerline, comes with a raised up pedestal for better visibility. And then the starboard companion chair, both companion chairs have footrests that fold up into the fiberglass. Moving aft, you have a large U-shaped settee with a high low teak table and storage beneath. Recessed in each side of the hardtop is molded rod storage. You can fit big tackle in here, 80 pound reels, 130 pound reels are no problem. They're tucked out of the way and these doors can lock so your tackle is safe and stowed away. Standing here at the helm, you can notice that the windshield is completely clear. It's a fiberglass windshield. Visibility is 360 degrees panoramic. This is some of the best visibility on an express boat of this size that you're ever going to see. It is a teak release marine helm pod with single lever Palm Beach style controls. And the bow thruster controls are located in the throttles. So when you're maneuvering on a fish or you're putting the boat back in the slip, you get it just where you want it. You want to bump the bow over one way or another. You do that. Your mate can catch your lines and it's very easy to dock the boat with the controls, with the bow thruster controls in the throttle handles. Our radio box is recessed. There's your Garmin controls, two VHF radios, a spotlight, a remote display for your ice machine, your engine controls and start stop switches, as well as your water maker display. Moving up to the instrument panel, you can see the carbon fiber insert. That's a very clean look. Two engine displays, Garmin autopilot, Furuno RD33 digital depth recorder, your offshore display, fusion stereo, trim tab indicators, and your three 15 inch Garmin displays. There's a large BTU capacity air conditioning on the helm deck. So we're both very comfortable right now as we're filming this. So some brief statistics on the 44 Viking open. Her beam is 16 feet, four inches. She draws only 3 feet, 10 inches. So there's very few places you can't get this boat into. It's a wonderful boat to have in the Bahamas or the Keys where we're known for shallow water. There's very few places you can't get access in and out with this model. She carries 845 gallons of fuel. She's powered by V6 800 horsepower MAN common rails. She's going to cruise approximately 30 knots with a top speed of about 38 knots. As we enter into the salon area, you have a large ultra leather L-shaped sofa with a high-low table. There is a way to convert this into a bed if you need to sleep somebody here. To the starboard side, we have the galley with a Samsung microwave convection oven, sink, Corian countertops featured here in sandalwood, a two burner electric stove and four Sub-Zero galley refrigeration drawers. There will be two deep freeze and two refrigerators. Up on the wall here is a large flat screen TV trimmed out in Juno teak and nice custom wallpaper. The flooring is Amtico teak and holly laminate. Moving into the head, we have a Dometic vacuum flush head, Corian countertop vanity featured again in sandalwood, storage below and a large stall shower. Access to the master stateroom is all the way forward with a walk around queen berth, large hanging lockers, storage above and a large framed flat screen TV. The mattress comes up on a gas shock and there's plenty of storage for anything you might want to carry, additional gear, safety gear, whatever you need. There's plenty of room to tuck it away neatly here. All the way aft is the guest stateroom. It's down three stairs to the guest stateroom. There's an offset double berth and a large hanging locker and some storage drawers. This is a great utilization of space. It's never been seen before in a boat of this size. Up above you have a custom Palm Beach tuna tower with ruff triple spreader outriggers and a center rigger, steering and controls, Garmin unit, autopilot and VHF radio. Mounted up on top is a KVH satellite TV antenna as well as a weather and radio antenna. So thanks for spending a few minutes with us touring the 44 Viking Open.
