Wellcraft
34 Triumph Sedan
1990–93
Rewrite
When she was introduced in 1990 this maxi-volume family cruiser was presented to the public as the Triumph 34 Bridgedeck Sedan, the product of an all-new boatbuilding company closely associated with the Wellcraft factory. The Triumph operation (they had only two 34-foot models, the sedan pictured above and the midcabin Americus express) lasted just over a year before being absorbed into the Wellcraft fleet in 1991. The Triumph’s low-profile appearance is the result of locating the engines aft, thereby lowering the salon sole and creating a vast, single-level floorplan. Notable features include a unique pass-through from the galley to the flybridge (very convenient) and a hidden privacy curtain for use when the portside salon settee is converted into a double berth at night. Topide, both the cockpit and flybridge provide plenty of guest seating. Additional features include a bow pulpit, molded foredeck seating, and a swim platform. No racehorse, Crusader 300hp gas engines with V-drives cruise at a sedate 15–16 knots (mid 20s top).
