Wellcraft 270 Coastal
With her wide 9'9" beam, the Wellcraft 270 Coastal is one of the larger 27-foot express fishing boats in her class. She was a good-selling boat for Wellcraft, due in large measure to an affordable price. With her spacious cockpit and roomy accommodations, the 270 Coastal makes an excellent cruising boat for family and friends. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and her deep-V bottom ensures a comfortable ride when the weather turns sour. Storage lockers are found beneath the port and starboard helm seats, and fishing amenities include a 42-gallon lighted livewell, insulated in-deck fish boxes, bait prep station, rod holders, transom door, raw water washdown, and a tackle center. A walk-through panel in the windshield provides access to the foredeck. Below decks, the 270 Coastal sleeps four with a convertible dinette forward and a wide mid-cabin berth aft. The galley cabinet includes a microwave and fridge, and the standup head contains a sink and shower. Twin 225hp Yamaha outboards cruise at 25–26 knots (40+ top). Sterndrive models reach 30 knots with a single 330hp MerCruiser. Out of production in 2004, the 270 Coastal was reintroduced for the 2007–08 model years.
