The Wahoo 2600 EFS was a particularly innovative design when she was introduced back in 1989. For openers, she was among the first to feature a standup head in the console. More significantly, however, the Wahoo 26 was well ahead of the pack with her then-unique integrated transom bracket/swim platform design. (She’s one of the few 26-footers with port and starboard access doors to the swim platform.) With a wide 9-foot beam, the Wahoo was not aimed at the trailerable market like most center consoles her size. She’s built on a rugged deep-V hull with an aggressive 23 degrees of transom deadrise, reverse chines, and substantial flare at the bow. The large cockpit contains a pair of 6-foot-long fish boxes in the sole, and there are two more fish boxes forward under the raised casting platform. Three rod racks are beneath each gunwale, and four flush-mounted rod holders were standard. A bench seat can be placed in front of the transom console for cruising or removed for fishing. Twin 200hp outboards deliver a top speed of just over 40 knots.
