Tides

27

1987–2004

Tides 27
With her flared bow and stylish helm console, the Tides 27 has the appearance of a custom-built, high-dollar day boat. She’s one of a handful of inboard center consoles in this size range, and while not as fast as most outboard-powered boats, the reliability, range, and economy of inboard power will appeal to experienced anglers. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and the builder promoted its ability to custom-build each boat to an owner’s requirements. Offered in a center console layout, twin-engine installations can be set up with dual consoles or a raised-deck center console layout. Fishing amenities include a livewell at the transom, a built-in bait prep station, fresh- and saltwater washdowns, and two in-deck fish boxes. The forward cabin offers a V-berth, hanging locker, rod storage, and a concealed head. Note that the Tides 27 was available in both inboard (gas or diesel) and bracket-mounted outboard versions. A single 300hp Cat (or Cummins) diesel will cruise in the mid 20s, and twin 170hp Yanmar diesels cruise at 25 knots (about 30 knots top). No longer in production, the Tides 27 was custom-built in later years in Sarasota, Florida.
