The Thundercraft 350 Express is a good-quality Canadian cruiser with a contemporary 1990’s profile and a roomy midcabin interior. Built on a fully cored hull with generous beam and freeboard, the Thundercraft isn’t a well-known boat in the U.S. although very a few were sold into the Great lakes market. Below, three overhead hatches, long side windows, and halogen lighting combine to give the cabin a light, airy feel. There’s an athwartships queen berth in the forward stateroom with storage drawers and a hanging locker. The aft cabin also has a queen berth and is separated from the main cabin by a privacy curtain. Although the decor is somewhat conservative, the detailing is above average. Topside, an L-shaped lounge is opposite the helm on the bridgedeck, and the fold-down bench seat at the transom is removable. Additional features include fender storage in the transom, foredeck sun pad, and a stylish helm console. The use of sterndrives may raise a few eyebrows since inboards are generally preferred in a boat this size. Standard 330hp 7.4-liter MerCruiser sterndrives cruise the 350 Express at in the low 20s and reach about 35 knots top. The 210-gallon fuel capacity is light for a 35-footer.
