Southport
272
2005–17
The Southport 272 (called the 26 CC until 2007) is a wide-beam center console whose solid construction and businesslike layout are still a match for the best boats in this class. The Southport is outfitted with serious fishing features that include a transom bait rigging station with a bait box, cutting board and aft sink with a pullout shower, a 38-gallon insulated fishbox with macerator and overboard pumpout, a 45-gallon live well, two 45-gallon insulated fish boxes forward, six flush-mounted rod holders, and port and starboard under-gunwale rod racks, and numerous storage boxes. The console has an insulated drink/storage box under the front seat. Accessed through a large door on the starboard side of the console, the head compartment has a molded-in sink and a VacuFlush toilet with 12-gallon holding tank. The T-top is equipped with LED lighting, spreader lights, radar mounting plate and life jacket storage. Popular options included an anchor windlass, battery charging system, stereo system and console side curtains. Built on a variable deadrise hull with a flared bow and a reverse transom, twin Yamaha F225s top out at 45 knots.
