Shamrock

270 Open

2000–09

Shamrock 270 Open
Introduced in 2000, the Shamrock 270 Open was one of just a few straight-inboard center consoles produced in recent years. Nothing beats inboard power for day-in, day-out dependability, and this is a market that Shamrock dominated for many years. Unlike smaller Shamrock models, the 270 forgoes the company’s signature “Keel-Drive” hull design for a more conventional modified-V hull bottom with a prop pocket to reduce the draft and shaft angle. The boat is built like a rock—overbuilt would be a better description—and fit and finish is very good. The 270’s console is large with plenty of space for flush-mounting a full array of electronics. Under the console is a standup head compartment with a marine head, sink and shower. Features include two in-deck insulated (removable) fish boxes, bait prep station (transom), raw-water washdown, gunnel rod holders, 32-gallon above deck baitwell, cockpit rod storage, cockpit bolsters, molded bow pulpit, and a beefy transom door with gate. A heavy boat with a comfortable ride, the 270 Open will cruise at 20 knots with a standard 320hp gas engine and reach a top speed of over 30 knots.
