Shamrock

260 Mackinaw

1990–99

Shamrock 260 Mackinaw
With her protected helm, the Shamrock 260 Mackinaw is a capable all-weather trailerable fisherman designed for Northern and Great Lakes anglers. Aside from the protected helm, the 260’s biggest selling point is her exclusive Keel-Drive hull with its full-length skeg keel and protected prop and rudder—a design that all but eliminates the possibility of clipping a prop or damaging a rudder in shallow water. The Mackinaw’s wheelhouse could be fully enclosed with an optional aft bulkhead creating a weatherproof pilothouse second to none in a boat this size. The inboard engine is housed beneath the back-to-back seats on the centerline and the entire seat pod is easily raised for excellent service access. The Mackinaw’s large ventilating side windows let in plenty of light and air, and the 60-sq.-ft. cockpit is fitted with a fish box and rod racks. Additional features include V-berths forward, bow pulpit, enclosed head and positive foam flotation. A modest performer (the Keel-Drive hull, for all its benefits, takes a toll on performance), a standard 5.7-liter gas inboard will cruise the Shamrock 260 Mackinaw at 18–19 knots (high 20s top).
