Seacraft
32 Center Console
2000–09
A name still revered among serious anglers for their hardcore center consoles of the 1970s and ’80s, the original SeaCraft company went out of business in 1986 after a series of management changes. Revived in 1996 by the Tracker Marine conglomerate, the beaujpgully finished SeaCraft 32 preserves the classic, notched-transom look of her predecessors as well as the unique SeaCraft hull bottom with its longitudinal steps replacing the lifting strakes common to most deep-Vs. The 32 is a big boat with room for several anglers to fish with relative freedom. The helm console has space for a marine head inside, and there’s a huge 80-gallon in-deck livewell just forward of the transom. An optional dry storage/coffin box (see picture above) includes a second live well forward and lifts on a hydraulic ram to expose a cavernous storage area below decks. Note that the steering wheel is on the console centerline rather than offset to one side, an unusual arrangement. Note also that a pump room is in the lazarette forward of the livewell. Additional features include a leaning post, recessed bow rails, and console electronics box. Twin 250hp Mercs reach close to 40 knots wide open.
