SRV 300 Express Cruiser

In her day, the Sea Ray 300 Express was one of the larger family cruisers of her type available from a production manufacturer. No one would confuse her with a modern express cruiser and, while her appearance is dated, Sea Ray sold a lot of these boats and they are fairly common on the used market. Construction was solid fiberglass, and her deep-V hull provides a good ride in a chop. The cabin, with its old-fashioned veneer paneling and carpeted overhead, is best described as dated by today’s standards. With the dinette converted, there are berths for four below, and sliding cabin windows provide some much-needed ventilation. (Note that a bi-fold door provides privacy for the stateroom.) In the cockpit, there are storage cabinets beneath the double helm seats, while a pair of aft-facing lounge seats will accommodate a couple of guests. The cockpit is large enough for fishing, and visibility from the helm is very good. Additional features include a vented windshield, cushioned foredeck seats, underwater exhausts, good engine access, and a teak bow pulpit and swim platform. Among several engine options, twin 250hp gas inboards cruise the 300 Express at 16–18 knots and top out in the mid 20s.
