400 Fly

The Sea Ray 400 Fly has the same aft cockpit, foredeck and lower cabin layout as the Sea Ray 400 Sundancer, also introduced in 2016. The salon and cockpit are on the same level with triple sliding glass doors between that open wide enough to bring the two areas together. Although many recent motoryacht designs have the galley aft where it’s easily accessed from the cockpit, the galley in the 400 Fly is forward and to port, right across from the lower helm. In the salon, an L-shaped lounge to starboard and a facing sofa to port provide seating for eight. An opening side window at the helm makes backing into a slip easy. There are two staterooms on the lower level with either one or two heads. The forward master stateroom seems unusually spacious due in part the large hull windows. The aft stateroom features side-by-side berths that convert to a double. Molded steps to port in the cockpit provide easy bridge access. Cockpit features include a settee with a dinette table and a “gourmet transom” with a built-in electric grill and food-prep area. The optional hydraulic platform includes steps that deploy as the platform is lowered. Cummins 480hp V-drive diesels cruise at 20–24 knots (about 30 top).
