300 Sundancer
A stylish boat when she was introduced in 1992, the Sea Ray 300 Sundancer combined a contemporary profile and comfortable accommodations in an affordable package aimed at the entry-level family cruiser market. Like most Sea Ray cruisers of her era, the 300 rides on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with an integrated transom and a wide 10-foot, 6-inch beam. Two floorplans were available in this boat, both featuring a large mid-cabin aft and a V-berth forward. The galley is large enough to include plenty of storage as well as a cutting board, and the decor is an old-fashioned blend of carpet and mica. Topside, visibility from the elevated triple-wide helm is excellent. Guest seating is provided for six in the cockpit, and the bench seat at the transom folds away for access to the engine compartment. Additional features include an integral bow pulpit, sliding cabin windows, transom door, and cockpit refreshment center. A radar arch was a popular option. Among several engine choices, twin 230hp MerCruiser V-drive inboards cruise at 19–20 knots (about 30 knots top), and the same motors with sterndrives cruise in the low 20s and top out at close to 35 knots. Note the modest fuel capacity.
