Sea Ray Yachts
280-300 Weekender
1991–95
Attractive sportboat styling, a big, single-level cockpit, and cabin accommodations for two characterize the Sea Ray 300 Weekender (called the 280 Weekender in 1991), a popular day cruiser from the early 1990s. Aside from her solid construction, the Weekender’s main draw is her large cockpit with its side-panel storage, a portside cooler, drink holders, and transom door. A removable bench seat at the stern was a popular option and twin hatches in the aft cockpit floor provides good access to the engines. Below, the Weekender’s interior is arranged with a convertible dinette/V-berth forward, a small galley, and a standup head with sink and shower—comfortable accommodations for two adults. Built on a deep-V hull with a generous 10-foot, 6-inch beam and an integrated swim platform, the 300 Weekender came with a choice of inboard or sterndrive power. Among several engine options, twin 250hp MerCruiser inboards (with V-drives) will cruise in the mid 20s (30+ knots top), and the 250hp MerCruiser sterndrives will top out at close to 40 knots. Note that inboard models have prop pockets and side exhausts.
