Sea Ray Yachts
270 Sundancer
1992–93
Introduced in 1992, this is the second in a series of 270 Sundancer models marketed by Sea Ray over the years. Unlike the original 270 Sundancer (1982–88) this second-generation version is trailerable thanks to her slender 8-foot, 6-inch beam. Considered a very stylish boat in the early 1990s, she’s built on a solid fiberglass hull with an integrated swim platform and a steep 20 degrees of transom deadrise. Below decks, the mid-cabin interior—a tight fit for more than two adults—is arranged like most other trailerable boats her size with V-berths forward, compact galley with stove and refrigerator, removable dinette table, and a stand-up head with shower. A privacy curtain separates the mid-berth area from the main cabin. Cockpit seating includes a double helm seat, aft-facing (pull-down) jump seats, and a foldaway transom seat. A single 330hp MerCruiser sterndrive will cruise the Sea Ray 270 Sundancer at 20 knots (low 30s top), and optional 190hp I/Os cruise in the low-to-mid 20s and top out in the neighborhood of 35 knots. Lasting only two years in production, Sea Ray replaced the 270 Sundancer with an all-new 270 Sundancer model in 1994.
