270-290 Sundancer
The Sea Ray 290 Sundancer (called the 270 Sundancer in 1990–91) combined sporty performance and comfortable accommodations in an affordable, well-styled package. She’s built on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull, and her integral swim platform, curved windshield and molded pulpit combine to give her the sleek profile common to all recent Sea Ray sportboats. (Note that her 9-foot beam is very modest for a boat this size.) The original mid-cabin floorplan is arranged in the conventional manner with double berths fore and aft, a full galley, and a standup head with shower. Draw curtains are used for privacy in the staterooms, and storage space is at a premium (as it is in just about all family boats this size). In 1993, Sea Ray introduced an alternate floorplan with a U-shaped dinette to starboard and the galley and head to port. The cockpit came standard with a radar arch, foldaway stern seating, refreshment center and a transom door. Visibility from the raised double-wide helm seat is very good. A single 300hp MerCruiser sterndrive will cruise the Sea Ray 270/290 Sundancer at 20 knots and reach a top speed of about 35 knots.
